Introduction Whether you consider sport to be confined to physical activity or whether you define it more loosely as enjoyable leisure pursuits, it is certain that the face of sport is changing rapidly and now includes these fascinating holiday pastimes here in Mid-Wales, the home of Welsh Sporting Breaks. Taxidermy and Falconry increasingly seem to attract the same followers; mutual respect abounds and we can offer what we believe is a unique holiday experience for those who want to learn a little more about these two ancient sporting skills. One of them takes place indoors, so can be enjoyed whatever the weather. Only an hour from the coast and a similar distance from the historic border towns of Shewsbury and Ludlow, The British School of Taxidermy (where you can spend one of your days) is ideally situated amongst the rolling hills, overlooking a particularly lovely stretch of the River Wye. Llangurig, Llanidloes & Rhayader are the genuine 'Farmers Market' towns nearby and the Falconry takes place in two or three different environments, depending on the weather and quarry. As an alternative to Falconry or Taxidermy, or even as an additional activity, why not enjoy a spot of Fishing?
